Sharif Incubator was established in 2003. This center provides settlement space and offices in the vicinity of the Sharif University of Technology for the new companies arising from Sharif University and a variety of educational, consulting, advertising, marketing, and networking services to help start-up businesses grow in order to reduce the process of product commercialization, risks and costs.
So far, 330 technology units have benefited from the services of the development center, and more than 64 start-up companies are currently located in the development center and its specialized sites. The total space of the development center in 2019 is more than 5,000 square meters, including 9 buildings and three specialized branches. More than 40 companies are based at the knowledge-based or creative development center.
During a memorandum of understanding with the Energy Research Institute of Sharif University of Technology in 2014, more than 300 square meters of space was provided to the development center for the establishment of companies that are specialized in the field of water and energy, out of which 9 companies are currently settled in this space.
During a memorandum of understanding with Tehran Municipality in 2018, one of the buildings in District 9 with 970 square meters of infrastructure was given to development center to set up an urban smart technology center, which was opened on May 21, 2019, and currently hosts 9 newly established companies and 15 startup teams.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Science and Technology Park of Sharif University of Technology and Hamrahe Aval in June 2019, one of the buildings of development center with 500 square meters infrastructure was given to the Hamrahe Aval Company to establish Innovation Center and set up Information and Communication Technology companies which will open in August 2020.
